Cosmos Capsule Hub London

Cosmos Capsule Hub London

Rated 8.0 in 741 reviews. Enclosed pods.
B·Solid pick

This is a solid choice for solo travellers seeking a private, secure, and clean budget stay in a well-connected London location, provided they are comfortable with a self-service model and potential noise.

Cosmos Capsule Hub London offers a modern, self-service capsule experience in a convenient East London location, close to Brick Lane and tube connections. Guests sleep in enclosed, spacious pods that provide a good sense of privacy and security, often compared to a sleeping wagon on a train. While the capsules are generally comfortable and the property is praised for its cleanliness, some guests note issues with ventilation and warmth within the pods, particularly on upper bunks. Noise from other guests can also be a factor due to limited soundproofing. The shared bathrooms are kept clean, though their limited number can lead to queues during busy periods. The property operates a staffless, code-based entry system, which some find efficient, while others report it can be challenging, especially late at night. Charging facilities within the pods are minimal, making it less ideal for those with multiple electronic devices or longer stays. Despite these points, the Cosmos Capsule Hub is consistently rated as excellent value for money, providing a unique and budget-friendly option for exploring London.

Noise & sleep

Snoring, doors, how much you actually hear
5.0mixed

Noise isolation is a significant drawback, with multiple guests mentioning lack of soundproofing and noisy neighbours, though some found it quiet when occupancy was low.

If the capsules were soundproof this place would be perfect.

Noisy people in the room

complaintSpainApr 2026

The capsules are warm and cosy, even though there wasn't a lot of soundproofing it wasn't as much of an issue since everyone was quiet.

Pod comfort

Mattress, space, light, in-pod amenities
6.0good

Pods are generally comfortable and spacious, but recurring issues with heat and ventilation are noted, particularly in top bunks.

The capsules themselves are great, I feel safe and secure tucked inside.

The capsule is comfortable, you can expect something like a sleeping wagon on a train.

Privacy

Curtain vs door, lockers, feeling exposed
8.0very strong

Guests appreciate the sense of privacy and security offered by the enclosed capsules, feeling safe and having their own space.

The capsules themselves are great, I feel safe and secure tucked inside.

praiseUKJun 2026

It’s a fascinating concept with more privacy and security than other 12 bed dormitories.

Cleanliness

Pods, linens, and common areas

Cleanliness is consistently praised across the board, including capsules, common areas, and bathrooms.

Shared bathrooms

Showers, queues, hot water
5.0mixed

While bathrooms are generally clean, there are frequent complaints about the limited number of showers and toilets for the number of pods, leading to queues and wet floors.

There should be some way to prevent the ground getting so wet after someone gets out of the shower. There was just a giant puddle outside the bathroom if someone didn't try to clean up after themselves.

complaintUKApr 2026

Not enough bathrooms.

complaintSwedenMar 2026

Only one shower and two toilets so you do have to factor this in when wanting to get up and ready for the day.

Luggage storage

Lockers and suitcase space
5.0mixed

Luggage storage is limited to cabin-sized bags, which is a significant drawback for travellers with larger suitcases.

The locker has space only for cabine luggage size, travelers with larger bags should take that into consideration.

Staff & check-in

Front desk, house rules, helpfulness
6.0good

The property is staffless, relying on a self-check-in system with codes and messages. While some find this convenient, others report significant difficulties and safety concerns, especially at night.

Mine didn’t work and I did have to stand outside for a while whilst I called to get intouch with someone to let me in.

complaintUKJun 2026

Getting into the property, through the system of codes, cards, keys and WhatsApp messages, was nothing short of a reverse escape room experience (helpful on text once I got stuck by the way).

complaintUKApr 2026

Really good communication from the team. The place was clean and the capsule was novel and good value for money. It felt very secure and safe. Simple and very convenient self check in process.

Location & access

Stations, the neighborhood, finding the door
8.0very strong

The location is highly praised for its convenience, proximity to tube lines (District and Elizabeth), and being close to Brick Lane, despite one comment about it being a bit far from some areas.

Great concept, great location, great price.

praiseUKMay 2026

Both District and Elizabeth lines are closeby, connection to the city is fast.

The location is really convenient and it turns onto a quiet road.

Wifi & working

Speed, desks, plugs
4.0weak

Charging facilities within the pods are severely limited, with low power output and insufficient sockets for multiple devices, making it unsuitable for guests with many electronics or longer stays.

The capsule has only one USB A and one USB C socket, with limited output! When I plugged in my Macbook Air chared 30%, there was an estimated 8 hours to get it fully charged. If you are traveling with a lot of electronic gear, this is a huge downside. On a trip, I usually charge my laptop, my tablet, my phone, my earphones, and my camera every night. This is not possible here. I only stayed for 2 nights, so I could squeeze out enough juice from my batteries and just about managed the situation, but it was a source of stress that I definitely did not need. I would recommend installing one plug in the locker so that you can charge all of your electronics. In the current state, I wouldn't recommend the hotel for longer stays, even though the capsules are super comfy and reasonably priced.

Atmosphere

Social or silent — the vibe of the place
7.0strong

The atmosphere is generally quiet and respectful, attracting like-minded guests, suggesting a focus on sleep rather than social interaction. It's described as a good alternative to traditional hostels for privacy.

I’ve stayed a few times now and I find all the guests to be likeminded and respectful so you’re able to get a good nights sleep.

praiseUKJun 2026

It’s a fascinating concept with more privacy and security than other 12 bed dormitories. The capsule is more spacious than expected. 👍 Cons: Not that I was affected but in busy periods 1 toilet/shower for 12 beds may require some negotiating. But isn’t that a reason to select hostel-like accommodation? 🙂

praiseUKDec 2025

I was there with other 3 or 4 people so it was quiet. Toilet was clean and there was barely any noise.
