Capsule Hostel Top Wenceslas square

Capsule Hostel Top Wenceslas square

Rated 6.9 in 963 reviews. Enclosed pods.
C·Budget option

This property is a basic, budget-friendly option for solo travellers prioritising location and privacy over comfort and amenities, provided they are prepared for the self check-in process and potential noise issues.

Capsule Hostel Top Wenceslas Square offers a budget-friendly, enclosed pod experience in a prime central Prague location. While the pods provide a degree of personal privacy and security, guests frequently report issues with thin mattresses and poor ventilation, especially during warmer months. The property operates on a self check-in system, which can be challenging for those without reliable phone data or battery. Shared bathrooms are basic, and while some guests find them clean, others note inconsistencies and a lack of privacy in showers. The hostel's basement location contributes to a quiet atmosphere at night, but also to ventilation problems and occasional smells in communal areas. Despite these drawbacks, many guests consider it good value for its low price and excellent access to Prague's attractions.

Guests appreciate the personal space and security offered by the capsules, noting clever locks and a sense of privacy not found in traditional dorms.

It gives you that personal space that you don't get in a hostel dorm on a bunk bed, everything secure, no need to worry about belongings.

Everything was really clean

praiseLatviaJun 2026

When I first entered the capsule there was an imprint of a foot on the mirror... It seems they only clean the mattress and covers, not the rest of the capsule.

Staff & check-in

Front desk, house rules, helpfulness
4.0weak

The property operates with self check-in and no in-person staff, which can be problematic if guests lack internet access or find the instructions unclear. There is no staff to assist with issues like broken showers.

No in-person staff, don't lose your phone (key card+staff contact)!

complaintUKJul 2025

I didn’t like the self check in , the instructions wasn’t clear . It took me a while to figure it out how to open the door. You have to have your phone with internet . Click the link with the button on your phone to unlock the door and your capsule.

Atmosphere

Social or silent — the vibe of the place
4.0weak

The atmosphere is generally quiet, but the basement location and lack of ventilation contribute to a claustrophobic feeling for some, with occasional issues like smells in the common kitchen.

Feels like a claustrophobic fire trap in the basement of an old building with no ventilation and substandard bathroom and shower amenities.

complaintUSAug 2025

The smell of the common room kitchen could be better even if the hotel is in the basement.
