This property is a strong choice for solo travellers seeking a well-located and value-for-money capsule stay, particularly those who appreciate traditional Japanese public baths.
Y's CABIN&HOTEL Naha Kokusai Street provides a modern capsule experience in the heart of Naha, offering individual cabins with privacy curtains. While the cabins themselves are generally quiet, guests note that the curtains can be noisy when operated, and some find the mattresses thin. The property excels in its shared facilities, particularly the highly-rated public bath (sento/onsen), which serves as a relaxing alternative to the limited private showers. Located just off Kokusai Dori, it offers superb access to shops, restaurants, and public transport, making it an ideal base for exploring Okinawa. Staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness.
♀ Reviews mention private showers for women on the 5th floor and a female-only public bath area.

Noise is a significant issue, with loud curtain operations and general sounds from neighbours being easily audible. While some found the overall cabin quiet, others noted being able to hear breathing and plastic bag rustling, suggesting poor sound insulation between pods.
“The curtain in cabins operates loud noise, so if there is someone open or close the curtain can be really loud.”
“the overall cabin was very quiet.”
“Perfect In a perfect position near the main street even if it was really calm and quiet, everything is so clear and the sento is amazing”
Pods are generally spacious with good lighting and charging options, but some guests found the beds hard and noted issues with ventilation and warmth inside the cabins.
“The capsule itself had 2 different lighting options and a fan, and outlets for charging. Location was only a 20min walk to naminoue beach, close to the station, and close to tons of food options + all the souvenir shops on koukusaidori. The capsule itself had enough space for my trip backpack and some other things.”
“Bed quite hard”
“a lottle bit warm in the cabin room, but it's a personal feeling”
Cabins offer a degree of personal space, with enough room for a backpack and a cupboard with a lock for valuables. However, the cabins use curtains, which can be noisy when operated, and the cabins themselves cannot be locked, which some guests found a drawback.

“Was my first time in that kind oc hotel. Excelleng experience. Recommend. Was very clean, did not feel unsafe, even if you cannot lock the door of the cabin”
While many guests praised the general cleanliness of the rooms and common areas, some found significant issues with cleanliness inside the capsules, noting mould, dust, and debris under mattresses. The laundry area was also specifically mentioned as not being very clean.
“Nice and clean japanese room.”
“The place is very convenient and very clean.”
“I also think the cleaning staff must rarely vacuum inside the capsules, as when I checked under my mattress, the bottom of it had black mould splotches (possibly from bad ventilation/humidity) but also underneath it were many sesame seeds, dust and even a contact lens...so it doesn't feel very clean. Please implement a better vacuuming schedule, and perhaps change out the mattresses to air them out more regularly between guests and prevent mould.”
The public bath (onsen/sento) is a major highlight, frequently praised as amazing and relaxing. While private showers are limited, especially for women, the public bath serves as a popular and clean alternative, reducing queues. Bathrooms and showers are consistently reported as clean.
“Lovely and relaxed public bath.”
“The Onsen was amazing 🧖🏼♀️!”
“Loved the onsite onsen and the service, very friendly”
The property provides a separate suitcase area, small closets, and cupboards with locks for important items. Deluxe capsules offer more space for luggage. However, there is limited space to open large suitcases, and a lack of drying racks for wet garments in the luggage area was noted as an issue.
“The capsule itself had enough space for my trip backpack and some other things.”
“I stayed here last year, and noted in my review then that there is nowhere to dry wet garments that cannot always be tumble dried (like bikinis) - which, considering many people go swimming/snorkelling here, this should be considered - there is still an issue with this and many people had hung their wet swimsuits and towels over the railings in the suitcase area - dripping all over the floor and causing wet patches. So, this is still inconvenient, and also a concern for mould. Maybe you can add some drying racks and a fan/dehumidifier to this area.”
“I stayed in a deluxe capsule and found it spacious enough to store my belongings. Since I stayed for four nights, I needed space to open my suitcases and organize my clothes. I strongly recommend booking a deluxe capsule if you’re staying more than two nights—it’s worth the extra cost.”
Staff consistently receive high praise for being welcoming, friendly, helpful, and approachable. They are noted for going above and beyond, such as providing umbrellas during a typhoon and assisting with restaurant reservations.
“Welcoming staff.”
“the staff helping me a lot!”
“Loved the onsite onsen and the service, very friendly”

The atmosphere is generally quiet and relaxed, with a lovely public bath and a tatami-style relaxation area for reading and watching TV. There's also a shared lounge for eating or using laptops. However, some guests found it almost too quiet, with little social interaction, and noted that the relaxation area was sometimes misused for sleeping.

“Quiet. Like if you want a hostel that is dead silent this is it! It was super clean, the powder room was great and even had hair curlers and straighteners! The location was definitely the best part. Cons: Quiet. Almost too quiet, no one ever spoke! and you could basically hear everyone else’s breath.”
Guests consistently rate Y's CABIN as offering great value for money, especially considering its excellent location and amenities, even during peak seasons like Golden Week.
“The price is low for a safe and relatively comfortable capsule to sleep in - especially during golden week”
