Riccarton Capsule Hotel

Riccarton Capsule Hotel

Rated 7.1 in 655 reviews. Enclosed pods.
C·Budget option

This property offers a basic, enclosed pod experience, best suited for those seeking an economical overnight stay in Kuala Lumpur, provided they are prepared for potential noise and cleanliness issues.

The Riccarton Capsule Hotel in Kuala Lumpur offers an enclosed pod experience, described by some as akin to a 'space ship cabin'. While the capsules provide a private space for guests, the overall sleep experience is hampered by thin, worn-out mattresses and significant noise transfer from neighbouring pods, often continuing late into the night. Cleanliness is a notable concern, with several guests reporting dirty capsules and common areas. Shared bathrooms are generally clean, though some fixtures may be in disrepair. The hotel's location is considered good, with easy access to the city and available parking, making it suitable for short, budget-conscious stays.

One review mentions a desire for separate men's and women's rooms, indicating the current setup is mixed.

Noise & sleep

Snoring, doors, how much you actually hear
3.0weak

Noise isolation is a significant issue, with guests frequently reporting being able to hear footsteps and movement from neighbouring capsules, and noise persisting late into the night.

It was okay for work stay, but quite noisy and foot step and movement from neighbouring capsules can be heard clearly.

Privacy

Curtain vs door, lockers, feeling exposed
7.0strong

Guests appreciate the private space offered by the capsules, with some choosing the property specifically for its quiet and secluded feel.

For those who need a more private space, I recommend it, clean place and close to the hospital.

complaintMYMar 2026

Shared bathrooms

Showers, queues, hot water
6.0good

Shared bathrooms are generally described as clean, and hot showers function well, though there are mentions of broken shower heads and issues with bathroom blinds.

They could've fixed the blinds in the bathroom so that it is easy to open and see the world outside. And also they should fix the shower head that is somewhat broken in the bathtub.

complaintMYJan 2026

Hot shower function very well,

praiseMYJan 2026

Bathrooms are very clean.

Luggage storage

Lockers and suitcase space
3.0weak

There are no separate locker facilities for luggage, requiring guests to store their bags inside the capsules, which can take up considerable space.

there is no locker facility separately to keep the luggage and one booking the capsule has to keep the luggage inside it, which takes much space!

4.0weak

While some find the price acceptable for a short, economical stay, others feel the rooms are overpriced for the experience, particularly given the issues with amenities and cleanliness.

praiseMYMar 2026

Room is not worth the price. I would say RM100 is fair for the Deluxe King room but I've paid RM200 for it.

Other than the long walk to get food, mostly good for a short, economical overnight stay
