This property is best suited for short, functional airport layovers where convenience outweighs comfort and amenities, provided guests are prepared for potential noise and the lack of showers.
The VATC Sleep Pod Terminal 2 offers a convenient, albeit basic, solution for travellers needing rest during layovers or before early flights at Hanoi's airport. Located directly within Terminal 2, guests appreciate the ease of access and not having to leave the airport. The individual cabins provide a private space for sleep, with comfortable beds, though some find them quite small, particularly for two people or with luggage. While staff are consistently lauded for their helpfulness, guests frequently highlight significant noise issues, ranging from thin walls to disruptive construction. A notable absence is any on-site bathroom facilities, with guests needing to use public airport toilets and no showers available, which is a common point of contention given the price.
Noise is a significant issue, with thin walls, construction noise described as 'insane', and proximity to busy airport areas leading to disturbed sleep. Earplugs were offered but sometimes insufficient.
“The walls are a little thin but it beats a floor or chair in the airport.”
“Not have construction noise in the middle of the night. The biggest problem we had was our first stay in this unit... we came in at 11pm at night and around 1pm there was an insane amount of construction noise. I question the staff and they offered earplugs but it was beyond earplug capability. It was like someone was jack hammering right beside our room.”
“It was close to the busy area so it was loud, struggled to sleep”
Pods are described as small, making movement and changing clothes difficult, especially for two people. Issues with light leakage and fan control due to a single key card were also noted.
“A little too much light”
“Very small rooms”
“The size is challenging for 2 people with their bags since its even hard just to change clothes are move around each other get to the bags. We had the bunk bed version. We also were given just 1 card so that meant fan turned off when one person wasn't in the room since they needed the card to reenter. That limited my daughter's ability to sleep. Having a curtain to pull across each bed would have been helpful to reduce light when the other person is still awake.”
The pods offer a degree of privacy, with some guests describing them as 'private rooms'. However, the lack of individual bed curtains in bunk bed versions can compromise light privacy when sharing.
“The rooms are private and comfortable, although there was a bit of noise during the night (they left me some earplugs, they were appreciated).”
“Having a curtain to pull across each bed would have been helpful to reduce light when the other person is still awake.”
Generally, the pods are considered clean, with several guests praising their tidiness. One minor complaint mentioned dust on a top bunk and mosquitoes.
“Good location and clean”
“A little dusty on the top bunk and some mosquitoes.”
“It’s quiet and clean. The staff is very nice and very helpful.”
A major drawback is the complete lack of private or shared bathrooms within the facility. Guests must use airport toilets, and there are no showers available, which is a frequent point of disappointment.
“No bathroom, shower or sink”
“Very small rooms and bathroom is separate from the accomodation”
“It would be nicer if each pod had a toilet and small shower set up in the room. I stayed in one at Heathrow in London that did have a shower and toilet in the room.”
The pods offer minimal space, making it challenging to manage luggage, especially for two people. There is no indication of dedicated luggage storage outside the pods.
“The size is challenging for 2 people with their bags since its even hard just to change clothes are move around each other get to the bags.”
“minimal space”
Staff consistently receive high praise for being amazing, kind, and super helpful, contributing positively to the guest experience.
“The staff are amazing.”
“Ngan from reception was the kindest and super helpful.”
“The staff is very nice and very helpful.”
The location within Terminal 2 is highly convenient for layovers and early flights, being easily accessible from arrivals and close to check-in. Guests appreciate not having to leave the airport.
“The convivence of it being at the airport, restrooms were close by”
“Very handy. Remember you must go through immigration and security so make sure you have a visa. You need a multiple entry one. Very quiet part of the airport. L2. Up to L3 the next morning to check in for my next flight.”
“Great location. Just head up the escalators outside the arrivals hall and you're there in less than two minutes. The room is very compact, but the bed is comfortable and that's what's important.”
Wifi is available, but there is limited information on its quality or suitability for work.
“wifi”
The atmosphere is generally described as quiet, suggesting a focus on rest rather than social interaction, typical for an airport sleep pod.
“Very quiet part of the airport. L2.”
“It’s quiet and clean.”
Many guests feel the pods are overpriced, especially considering the lack of private bathrooms and showers. Some suggest nearby hotels offer better value, despite the unbeatable airport location.
“Not a good value for a money, you can book 2 nights in nearby airport hotels instead. At least you will have a shower .”
“Very nice but small and overpriced”
“The price is quite high, but they sell out and you can't beat the location.”
